26a Conferenza delle Parti sul cambiamento climatico delle Nazioni Unite

Tempo di lettura: 2 minuti

The COP 26 UN Climate Change Conference, hosted by the UK in partnership with Italy, will take place from 31 October to 12 November 2021 in the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, UK.

In light of the worldwide effects of COVID-19, the COP Bureau of the UNFCCC, with the UK and its Italian partners, had decided to re-schedule the conference initially slated for November 2020. Rescheduling the conference ensures that all parties can focus on the issues to be discussed at this vital conference and allows more time for the necessary preparations to take place. We will continue to work with all involved to increase climate ambition, build resilience and lower emissions.

Registration and participant vaccination

The UK COP Presidency strongly recommends all COP 26 participants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to attending the conference and is offering vaccines for registered participants. Click here to access the online registration system.

Pavilions and office space

Parties and organizations with admission status in the UNFCCC process are eligible to apply for pavilions and office space on a commercial basis through the UK incoming Presidency. The application portal on the COP 26 website is now open and will close on the 2nd July 2021. Details on how to access the portal have been sent to the focal points for all delegations. If you require any further information, please email: COP26@orientations.team

COP 26 side events/exhibits

As communicated to all Parties and admitted organizations on 15 June, the SEORS opening closed on 2 July. We have opened a waiting list to receive further applications for those who did not meet the deadline. The secretariat will contact those on the waiting list in case of cancelations made by selected event organizers.

Applications for side events and exhibits can only be received through the Side Events and Exhibits Online Registration System (SEORS).

The selection results will be announced on Thursday, 30 September 2021.

Admission of observer organizations

The deadline for admission in time for COP 26 review cycle was 31 December 2020. Applicant organizations will be notified of their application status once the assessment is completed. A message will be sent to the applicants whose applications have been assessed by the UNFCCC secretariat as having met the criteria as an eligible organization for admission by August 2021. This means that the secretariat is recommending the eligible organizations to the COP Bureau for “provisional admittance” to attend COP 26. Please note that the “formal observer status” still rests with the COP 26 during the opening session. The organizations with provisional admittance status will be informed about the next steps,  particularly about the registration for COP 26.
